My Favorite Family Portraits of a COVID-19 Summer
Fall has come around again in Western Europe, temperatures have dropped and winter coats are back in the wardrobe again. This year was different. The pandemic of COVID-19 has left a mark, affecting almost every person in one way or another. But, there’s always a bright side! And with COVID, the bright side was that we had to pause, and shift focus. We were drawn back to our roots, we were focused again not only on our own wellbeing, but also on the wellbeing of those around us. Families were spending days at home, with children not being able to go to school, with parents urged to work from home. And in all the chaos of those strange times, I found even more joy in taking photos of families. Families grew closer together again, strengthened their bond, and asked me to share some beautiful and special moments with them.
Working as a family photographer has been part of my photography career ever since I picked up a camera. During family sessions, I focus on spontaneity and connection. I usually shoot in a natural setting, either at home, or at a spot that is somehow related or special to the family. For instance, a nature park where the parents used to play as kids, or a beach were every summer holiday is enjoyed.
If you’re interested in booking a family session that is focused on spontaneity and connection, feel free to reach out! I am looking forward to spend a few hours with you and your family! TIP: it’s the perfect gift for your parents, your wife or your husband! When given as a surprise present, there’s a little surprise in it from my side too! Win-Win!
